FALL IN, 2022, 8"x11"
The long lines of the foothills of the Appalachian Mountains and glacial lakes defined my childhood. The white of the winter and abundant green of the summer are surpassed by the flowing lines of color in the fall when colors pop and move.
BREATHE OUT, 2022, 8"X11"
I often need to remind myself to breathe out and to stop carrying so much from the past. This is one reason that I love watercolors.

COLOR IS PASSION, 5"X7"
Audre Lorde reminded us that Poetry Is Not a Luxury - it embues feeling, resonance, and release. Color can do the same. Color represents so much. Culture. Art. Nature. A way of showing and feeling alive. It can meet our feelings and enwrap us. The deep colors in this piece recognize the deep feeling and expression in my life.

EARTH FLESH, 2024
This painting uses paint made from soil! In experimenting with it, these clean and elegant lines seemed to respect the brilliance of the paint and where it came from.
WONDER, 2024, 4"X4.5"
The dark sky is wondrous, when we can see it. It glimmers and highlights the surrounding landscape in ways we may not appreciate during the day. This piece uses 2 paints made from natural minerals.
COPPER DREAMS, 2024
I have a love/hate relationship with metallics. They are both a neutral color and soulful to me because they represent the element of earth. My love of them started when my Mom wore lots of them in the 80s and 90s. And they also represent exploitation and degradation.
